Can I see a chiropractor while an auto claim is open?

Health care and the insurance claim are separate

The clinical lane addresses symptoms, findings, care, referrals, and records.

The claim lane addresses policy notice, investigation, coverage, repair, liability, and payment.

They may exchange authorized records, but one does not control the professional judgment of the other.

Coverage questions to ask the insurer

  • What is the claim number?
  • Which coverage is being considered?
  • Is MedPay on the policy?
  • What documents are required?
  • Where should bills be sent?
  • Are there deadlines or policy duties?

Use the Ohio Department of Insurance consumer portal(opens in a new tab).
